Chris Friesen | PhD | C.Psych | BCN (Board Certified in EEG Biofeedback/Neurofeedback) | MPC, CSPA

I am a licensed clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist who has always been fascinated by what makes people successful. I played competitive hockey (as a goaltender) in my youth and now try to practice what I preach by living a healthy lifestyle that includes nutrition, exercise, meditation, biofeedback/neurofeedback and other forms of biohacking.

I primarily help professional, national/Olympic, and up-and-coming elite athletes, as well as other high achievers such as entrepreneurs, executives, academics, and writers, achieve their personal and professional potential. I leverage the latest research from sport/performance psychology, executive coaching, and cognitive neuroscience to help people maximize their potential.

In addition, I help high performers who are experiencing mental health (e.g., depression, anxiety) or neurological/neuropsychological difficulties (e.g., ADD/ADHD, traumatic brain injuries from concussion to severe TBI, and other types of brain-related conditions such as stroke, early dementia, seizure disorders, etc.).

I offer various assessments for the above difficulties that include psychological assessments/testing (e.g., personality testing, vocational/career interest testing, sport psychology mental skills testing, diagnostic assessments, etc.), neuropsychological/cognitive assessments, psychophysiological stress assessments, and quantitative EEG (qEEG) brain mapping.

My treatment and training approaches are from a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance & Commitment Training/Therapy (ACT) perspective that is heavily informed by applied neuroscience.

I also provide biofeedback and neurofeedback training (both in person and for those who are not from Southern Ontario) to athletes looking to improve their performance and for those who are experiencing mental health or neurological/neuropsychological/medical difficulties (e.g., chronic pain, concussion recovery, etc.).

I am currently director of Friesen Sport & Performance Psychology and Niagara Neuropsychology and a contributor to I am also the author of 'Achieve: Find Out Who You Are, What You Really Want, and How To Make It Happen'.
